The International Maintenance Association (IMA) has chosen the 2019 Conference Theme after conducting a survey among a committee of many Subject Matter Experts, Maintenance Specialists, and Academics from different parts of the Globe.
The IMA is a worldwide organization comprising members of 30 countries on five major continents, with members from North America, South America, Africa, Australia, the Middle East, the Far East, and Europe. Members include Researchers, Senior Managers, and Subject Matter Experts operating in the maintenance and asset management industry, as specialists, curriculum developers, and trainers in different fields. The aim of this Body is to enhance Physical Assets Maintenance Management.

The IMA World Maintenance Forum was held with our collaborating Partner SUPSI under the theme of
“First Global Meeting of Maintenance Societies / A Worldwide Overview of Current Practice of Maintenance Education & Training”
The International Maintenance Association had chosen the 2019 IMA World Maintenance Forum Conference Theme after conducting a survey among a committee of many Subject Matter Experts, Maintenance Specialists, and Academics from different parts of the Globe.
A specialized COMMITTEE was working on this theme and is preparing a global full study on "Worldwide Overview of Current Practice of Maintenance Education and Training (ME&T)”
The study goal was to identify shortcomings within ME&T and aims at reaching the optimum formula for the focus and improvement of ME&T globally. The outcome were a guideline at international level to help local and regional organizations / associations plan and strategically develop their Maintenance Education and Training; and thereby to achieve the best value in Budgeting, Maintenance Planning & Scheduling and Maintenance Optimization generally.
The study was conducted by a co-operative team of International Experts to assess the CURRENT approaches to the Education, Training and Apprenticeships programs for those involved in maintenance activities.
A REPORT of the study and the findings was subjected to review and debated by international O&M experts from Maintenance Societies Worldwide during the World Maintenance Forum 2019. Language: The conference was held in English.
